Textile Arts

The Textile Arts major will be offered in Session 2 only.

• Textile Arts students need to have an enthusiasm and desire to learn the processes involved in a variety of textile crafts.
• Students will learn basic techniques, have the opportunity to explore and create unique designs, and use the processes in textile projects.

Campers enrolled in the Textile Arts major should also select an elective.

Bring your creativity and enthusiasm for learning new skills and growing in your current ones. The Textile Arts staff are looking forward to a great week of Sugarloaf-style creating.

We are still finalizing our projects for this year, so we will send any important information or equipment needs in an email soon.

This is a hand work class and this year’s Textile Arts skills may be chosen from the following: Various fabric-dyeing techniques, Crocheting, Hand Sewing, Applique, Embroidery, Cross Stitching, Wool Stitching, and other hand work.

Students will be able to interject their own themes and ideas into the projects. Campers enrolled in the Textile Arts major should also select an elective. Those who choose the Craft elective will have the option to continue with Textile Arts projects or try something new!

Please Note

For the final Program on Saturday, all Photography, Textile Arts, Video Arts, and Visual Arts campers are expected to remain on site and should not remove projects prior to the completion of the final performance.
