We complete our week of camp on Saturday with a final performance for family and friends, showcasing the talents and week’s accomplishments of each camper through music, theater, and dance performances and an outdoor gallery of art, photography, and video productions. Parents and the public come to enjoy the performance and visual arts displayed by the campers, with campers heading home after the afternoon program.
Session One, Saturday, July 12
Session Two, Saturday, July 19
On the final day of camp, campers present what they have learned during the week to friends and family in a final concert performance, art gallery & video display.
Please Note:
Participation in all rehearsals and the final (Saturday) performance is required for campers enrolled in performance majors. Performance majors include all Band sections, A Cappella, Vocal Ensemble, Dance, and Theater.
Campers must be committed to the entire camp session.
Sugarloaf Camp is a limited enrollment performing arts camp; the final performance is vital to the camp experience. Therefore, any camper that leaves camp early and does not perform in the Saturday performance will be disqualified from attending Sugarloaf Camp for the following year.
9:00 am-10:00 am: Parents & families arrive for the performance.
10:00 am-12:00 pm: Artwork, Photography, & Video galleries open.
10:00 am-12:00 pm: Band, Chorale, Dance, Theater Arts performances & Award presentations.
Remember to bring your lawn chairs, hats, and sunblock!
All campers, including photo, video, and art students, are asked to stay for the entire performance.
Our camp sessions may produce your most creative growth of the year, and this opportunity to be recognized for your work and to bring closure to your camp experience is invaluable. We ask that Textile artists, Visual Artists, and Photography students not take down your artwork until the completion of the final program. We will not be storing any artwork, photography, or craft projects. All artwork must be taken home from camp.
Due to fire safety codes, family vehicles cannot be parked on the Sly Park campus unless the car has a handicap parking permit or special parking arrangements have been made (the camp director MUST approve these before camp). In addition, parking along Sly Park Road is also a fire safety issue and is not allowed. Parking attendants will be on duty to STRICTLY ENFORCE the “no parking” policy. We fully understand that this is not an ideal situation and appreciate your patience and understanding that Sugarloaf Camp does not have other options for parking at this time.
Please park at Sierra Ridge Middle School, 2700 Amber Trail, Pollock Pines. Two buses will be provided for shuttle service to camp every half hour, starting at 8:30 am and running until 10:15 am. There will be no shuttle service from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. In the afternoon, two buses will provide a shuttle service from camp every half hour from 11:30 am to 1:30 p.m.
8:30 am – 10:15 am Shuttles every half hour to camp
10:30 am – 11:30 am No shuttles during this time
11:30 am – 1:30 pm Shuttles every half hour from camp
So that you know, we can only transport school-age children on the bus. Families that bring a child five years old or younger to the final performance cannot ride the bus and must make parking arrangements at the Sly Park Campus. Students may depend on the bus with their parents if they have minimal items that can be stored under the bus or on their laps.
Children younger than preschool will need to be driven separately, as we cannot transport boosters and car seats. Dogs are not allowed on the bus. The only dog we may transport is a service dog.
We encourage you to arrive early. After the performance, the driver for your family should return via the shuttle to your vehicle and drive back to the Sly Park campus to pick up campers and gear.
