Jazz

The Jazz Band major is offered Session 2 only.

Campers enrolled in any of the Band majors should also select an elective.

Keyboards and keyboard amps will be provided. Guitar players will need to bring both their guitar and amp. Bass players will need to bring their own bass. Bass amps will be provided for each band. All Jazz percussionists must bring sticks. Drum sets and keyboards will be provided.

All band students need to bring pencils, clothespins, and cleaning aids for their instruments.

All campers need to bring black (or dark colored) slacks or a knee-length skirt to wear at the final performance.

You must play one of the following instruments to be enrolled in any of the jazz bands:

• saxophone
• trumpet
• trombone
• drums
• piano
• bass
• guitar
  (If you play a different instrument, please consider enrolling in the Concert Band class offered during Session 1.)

Completed at least one (1) year of school band; AND

Must have completed 6th, 7th or 8th grade

No previous jazz experience necessary

Drum set and keyboard will be provided
